Meet Our Elite Trainers – Monica Wilks Meet Our Elite Trainers (Part 3) At INITIA, leadership is about showing up, sharing what you’ve learned, being open about the journey, and helping others find their own path forward. Our Elite Trainers do exactly that. Through mentorship, collaboration, and everyday example, they remind us that growth in this business isn’t a solo effort. It’s something we build together. Introducing Monica, INITIA Elite Trainer What does that mindset of “doing things differently” mean to you? To me, INITIA is about challenging the status quo, embracing new tools like CRMs, fresh ideas, and creating an environment where agents feel empowered to grow their businesses in ways that align with today’s market and evolving client expectations. I support other agents by being collaborative, accessible, and solutions-focused. I aim to provide clear guidance, share knowledge openly, and use communication as a bridge to new opportunities, all while staying grounded in continuous learning, accountability, and forward-thinking strategies. What moment in your career taught you the most about resilience or reinvention? One of the most impactful moments in my career involved a client who was raising her four grandchildren. She needed to sell her trailer home in order to purchase a larger space for them. However, before she could even list the property, she was required to replace the carpet throughout the trailer, or risk child protective services removing the children from the home. In that moment, I realized my role was about far more than a transaction. It was about advocacy, resourcefulness, and doing everything within my ability to support my client. I reached out to a close friend who is the president of a flooring company in Chicago, who then connected me with a company in Michigan that replaced all the carpet at no cost. I also organized a GoFundMe campaign to help with a potential down payment, and a mortgage company offered to handle the transaction free of charge. In the end, she wasn’t able to move forward with purchasing a home due to financial limitations. While the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, the experience reminded me that resilience means showing up fully, even when the result is uncertain. Reinvention, to me, is about finding creative solutions and mobilizing every resource available to serve others. Today, that lesson directly shapes how I train and mentor agents. I encourage them to think beyond the transaction and focus on impact, to be solution-oriented, leverage their networks, and advocate fearlessly for their clients while setting realistic expectations. Most importantly, I strive to model that success isn’t measured only by closed deals, but by the difference we make in people’s lives. Share: More Posts Book A Consult
