When the Industry Moves, So Do We: Why INITIA’s Next Chapter Matters

When the Industry Moves, So Do We: Why INITIA’s Next Chapter Matters When I started INITIA, I was never interested in building “just another brokerage.” I wanted agents to have what I did not have early on — the freedom to build their own brand, and the support to actually grow it. Over the years, that has meant challenging old models, embracing new tools, and building a culture where agents feel seen, backed, and believed in. That is why this next chapter for INITIA matters so much to me. Recently, INITIA was merged with eXp Realty. On paper, that kind of headline can sound like the end of a story: small brand gets swallowed by a bigger one. But that is not what is happening here. For us, this is not a downgrade. It is an evolution. From brokerage to growth platform INITIA used to operate as a traditional brokerage. Now, our role is changing, and in my view, becoming even more focused and powerful. Within eXp, INITIA will continue to exist as a growth platform: a community and support ecosystem that helps agents find their footing, build momentum, and grow sustainable businesses. eXp brings the infrastructure, technology, and scale. INITIA brings the human layer — the mentorship, team support, guidance, and community that many agents are actually needing. Support is no longer optional in this industry. It is a multiplier. You can be smart, driven, and hungry, but if you are operating in the wrong environment, it will always feel like you are pushing uphill alone. The gap between agents is not always effort. Often, it is environment. What changes and what does not What changes is the platform. Agents who connect with INITIA will be aligned with eXp Realty. That means access to a broader network, more tools, and a larger ecosystem built to support growth at scale. What does not change is why INITIA exists. We will still be focused on people first. We will still care about community, mentorship, and the kind of honest, real support that many agents say they are missing. We will still show up for the agents in our world, not just when things are going well, but when they are hard, confusing, or uncertain. INITIA exists to make sure no agent builds alone. What this means for newer agents If you are newer to real estate, you do not just need leads and logos. You need guidance. You need someone you can call when you are staring at a contract at 10 p.m. and wondering if you are missing something. You need people to practice conversations with, to debrief tough appointments with, to ask “Is this normal?” without feeling embarrassed. In this new structure, INITIA plays that role: We act as a recruitment and rampup community, helping you understand what you are stepping into and how to navigate it. We plug you into mentorship, training, and resources that are actually useful. We create a culture where asking questions is normal, not a sign of weakness. Real estate can be a tough industry to break into. You do not need to pretend it is easy. You just need people in your corner. What this means for growing and experienced agents If you are not brand new, your needs are different. You may already have deals under your belt, but you are trying to: Build consistency instead of riding the roller coaster. Streamline your systems so your business feels organized, not chaotic. Expand your business, your team, or your leadership role without losing your sanity. In this next chapter, INITIA becomes a place where: You can plug into a peer community that actually talks about what is working — and what is not. You can tap into mentorship that evolves with you, shifting from “how do I write this clause?” to “how do I lead, scale, or pivot?” You stay independent in how you run your business, but you are not isolated. Where eXp provides the platform, INITIA provides the people support. Why I believe in this model For ten years, I have watched agents succeed and struggle. The common thread among those who grow, stay, and thrive is never just that they worked harder. It is that they did not have to do it by themselves. They had someone to: Remind them they were capable when a deal fell apart. Share a strategy that shaved months off their learning curve. Offer perspective when the market shifted and panic kicked in. That is what I want INITIA to keep being inside eXp: the layer of real humans, real conversations, and real support that makes the difference between “I am surviving” and “I am building something I am proud of.” If you are an agent who wants scale without losing the human side, who wants independence without isolation, this is the space we are building. The industry is evolving. The models are evolving. And so are we. Support is not a nicetohave anymore. It is the difference between burning out and breaking through. This is what happens when a real estate brand becomes a growth platform: the agents at the centre of it get what they should have had all along: community, mentorship, and a team that is deeply invested in their success.
