INITIA Joins eXp Realty Canada: A New Chapter in Agent-First Growth
We are excited to share a significant milestone in INITIA’s journey: our organization has officially aligned with eXp Realty Canada, bringing together approximately 1,000 agents and support staff under a powerful new partnership. This transition represents an evolution, one that allows us to expand our mission of building an agent-centered growth platform for real estate professionals across Canada and the Americas.
What This Means for INITIA
Founded in 2015, INITIA has grown from a vision of agent-first support into a thriving network spanning Canada, Mexico, the United States, and Colombia, with approximately $2.5 billion in sales volume in 2025. As our founder and broker Jonathan Yu noted, this strategic move allows INITIA to offload administrative and compliance burdens while maintaining the human connection that has always defined our culture. The brokerage industry is experiencing heightened operational demands and compliance requirements, making it increasingly difficult for independent brokerages to operate without sacrificing what matters most: supporting agents.
With eXp Realty Canada, we gain access to a cloud-based platform, advanced training systems, technology infrastructure, agent support tools, and a global referral network—while keeping our identity, local leadership, and the culture we’ve built together. “The cultures of INITIA and eXp are deeply aligned, especially with the agent-first focus,” Jonathan Yu shared in announcing the transition. “The move will allow me to personally realign with the part of the business that matters most to me: fostering meaningful connections, mentoring agents, and ultimately showing up for my Initia family”.
eXp Realty Canada’s Managing Director Nadia Habib noted that INITIA’s leadership came to the conclusion “that eXp wasn’t a competitor, it was the infrastructure they needed to take Initia to the next level”. As Leo Pareja, CEO of eXp Realty, observed, this move “says a lot about where the brokerage model is going—brokerage leaders are looking for ways to scale smarter, support agents better and reduce the operational weight that can pull them away from growth”.
